Ingredients

4 Granny Smith Apples peeled and sliced.

4 Tablespoons butter

1/2 cup sugar

a piece of puff pastry approx. 6 inch square

2 tablespoons grand marnier liquor

Preparation

You will need a pie pan that can go on top of the stove. Put sugar and butter in pan on burner (med low) and cook until a nice brown caramel adding the liquor when melted. Shake pan as it melts but don’t stir. Remove from heat add apple slies pressing down well (this is a rustic dessert so needn’t be all the same size or perfecly placed). Roll the pastry to fit over the apples then place in a 400 degree oven for 20 minutes or until puffed and brown. Cool for a few minutes unmold and serve warm. Can be sprinkled with thin sliced toasted almond or powdered sugar.
