Ingredients
1/2 cup dark Soy Sauce
1/2 cup Water
1 tbsp minced fresh garlic
1 tbsp minced fresh ginger
1/4 cup spring onions
1 tsp finely chopped green chilies (with out the seeds)
1/2 tsp chile flakes (or cayenne pepper)
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp Strawberry preserve
1 tsp Orange zest
1 tbsp cornflour
1 tsp vegetable oil
Preparation
- In a hot sauce pan add oil and let it smoke mildly
- Add garlic and Chili flakes and let brown (very light you should only see the edges light golden brown)
- Add Green Chilies, Onions & Ginger and saute till onions are translucent
- Add soy sauce
- lower heat and bring to a rolling boil (taste and you should be able to get mild flavors of the ingredients added so far)
- Add table spoon of Strawberry preserve and stir with a small wire whisk until it dissolved and than add the honey and let it blend into the sauce
- Now add orange zest and let cook for a few seconds
- Mix the 1/4 cup of water and cornflour and add to pan, cook until sauce thickens. towards the end add the spring onions
