Ingredients

2 sticks of butter

4 T cocoa

1 1/2 cups water divided

2 cups sugar

2 cups flour

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup buttermilk

1 t baking soda

2 eggs

1 t vanilla

Preparation

melt butter, cocoa, and 1 cup water in saucepan mix the flour and sugar in a bowl, then add to the butter/cocoa mixture stir in the rest of the water, buttermilk, baking soda, eggs, and vanilla pour into a greased jellyroll pan bake at 350 for 20 min when cake is warm, but not hot, poke small holes in cake with a fork (small as possible) pour hot frosting over warm cake: melt 1/2 c. butter, 1/4 c. cocoa, 1/3 c. buttermilk. Mix together then add 1/2 t. vanilla and 4 c. powdered sugar
