Ingredients

FOR CAKE

Ingredients:

3/4 cup Margarine or butter

1 1/2 cup water

6 tbsp cocoa powder

3 cup flour

3 cup sugar

1/2 tsp salt

3 eggs

3/4 cup sour cream

1 1/2 tsp baking soda

FOR FROSTING

Ingredients:

1 cup margarine

6 tbsp cocoa powder

1 lb. icing sugar

1 cup chopped nuts

Preparation

For Cake: Spray or butter a 12 X 16 X 1 inch pan. Put a layer of waxed paper or parchment on bottom Preheat the oven to 375F Combine flour sugar and salt in a large bowl. Bring margarine, water and cocoa to a boil in a small pan, stirring to mix. Pour hot mixture into flour mixture and mix until all of the flour is absorbed. In a small bowl beat the eggs. Add sour cream and baking soda and mix well. Add this mixture to the flour mixture and combine well with a spatula or wooden spoon. Pour the batter into the pan and cook for 20 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.

For Frosting: Bring margarine and cocoa to a boil in a medium sized pan. Remove from the stove and add the icing sugar and nuts. Mix well and allow to cool for 15 to 20 minutes. Spread on slightly warm cake right to the edges of the pan to seal cake.
