Ingredients
8-10 medium acorn squashes
1 cup of butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
Preparation
- Wash outside of squash.
- Cut each squash in half and clean out seeds and stringy parts.
- Fill each half with water.
- Place squash open side up in baking dish and cook in oven at 325 F for 1-2 hours.
- Remove from oven and let cool.
- Remove the squash flesh and put squash into large bowl (I like to put it in my slow cooker to easily transport and reheat).
- Melt butter and brown sugar in pot.
- Pour melted sauce on top of the squash and mix or mash well.
- Spice freely (I like to add salt, nutmeg, and pumpkin pie spice).
