Ingredients

2 cups Mixed Spring Greens - washed and torn

4-5 Large Strawberries - hulled and sliced

Handful Seasoned Pecans ( or plain if preferred)

Goat Cheese (amount to taste)

Balsamic Vinegrette

Preparation

This basic salad gets put together on the plate. For the Pecans: ( I find it handy to have them on hand, always, for snacking or whatever) 2 cups pecans tossed in a heated mixture of 1/2 cup water, 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon,1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp ground cloves, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, 1/8 tsp ground pepper. Stir well and let cool For the Dressing: (Makes 1/2 cup) Mix together 1 clove garlic (minced), 1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar, 1 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/8 tsp pepper, 3 Tbsp. virgin olive oil, 1 Tbsp herbs such as thyme, basil, or oregano ( dried is fine but I love fresh)
