Ingredients

For Cake:

1-1/2 cups boiling water

1 cup minute oats

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup margarine

2 eggs

1/2 tsp. vanilla

1-1/3 cups flour

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking soda

For Topping:

3/4 stick margarine

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 Tbsp. milk

1 cup shredded coconut

1 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

For Cake: Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Pour boiling water over minute oats and let stand for two minutes; mix lightly. Cream sugars, margarine, eggs and vanilla - set aside. In separate bowl, mix flour, cinnamon, salt and baking soda; add to cream mixture. Add oatmeal mixture and blend all well. Bake in greased 13 x 9 x 2 pan for 35 minutes.

For Topping:

Mix margarine, brown sugar and milk in small saucepan; boil for 1 minute. Add coconut and pecans. Spread evenly over WARM cake. BROIL cake until top begins to brown, watching carefully so that coconut and pecans do not burn under broiler.
