Ingredients
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 tsp chopped fresh thyme ( or 1/2 tsp dried )
4 tbsp brandy
2 eggs
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
2 lb lean ground beef
4 tbsp butter
1 tsp each salt and pepper
Preparation
In a skillet, melt 4 tbsp butter over medium heat; fry onion, garlic and thyme until onion is golden brown, about 8 minutes. Pour in brandy and cook until evaporated. Scrape into a bowl. Add egg, mustard and salt and pepper; fold until combined. Mix in beef until combined. Divide mixtre and form into 3/4 inch thick patties. Grill over medium heat, turning once until no longer pink inside, about 15 minutes
