Ingredients

2 large cans (19 fl. Oz) navy beans, well drained (you can add 1 or 2 more cans for less sauce)

1½ cup ketchup

1½ cup water

¼ cup molasses

1/3 cup real maple syrup

1 cup loosely packed brown sugar

1 large onion, diced

6 strips bacon, diced (you can eliminate this or substitute leaner meat)

1 tbsp dry mustard (you can substitute regular old yellow mustard, about ¼ cup)

1 tsp salt + 1 tsp pepper (I just eyeball this and grind the pepper right into the beans)

Preparation

Combine all ingredients in crock pot; stir well to distribute the molasses

Cook on low 8 hours, stir occasionally.
