Ingredients
4.5 oz self-raising flour
pinch of salt
2.5 oz butter cut in cubes
2oz Demerara sugar
1 small cooking apple
approx 2tbsp milk
Preparation
Mix dry ingredients and add the grated apple. Then add the milk to make a moist dough. Roll out on a floured board to 1/4 inch thickness cut into rounds and cook on a griddle for 4-5 minutes each side. Serve warm and eat fresh, spread with butter if preferred. Variation may be made by adding a pinch of cinnamon or mixed spice.
