Ingredients

5 eggs

1 tub mascarpone cheese (TreStelle 475g)

6 tbsp white sugar

1 1/2 ounces (to taste) Brandy/Grand Marnier

2 packages Lady fingers

3 cups strong coffee

some cocoa powder or chocolate shavings

Preparation

  1. Separate eggs. Add the yolks to the mascarpone cheese.
  2. Add sugar and liquor. Whisk/beat.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg-whites until they are stiff.
  4. Dip the Lady Fingers in the coffee and place in a tray.
  5. Fold egg-whites into the Mascarpone mixture. The more air, the better.
  6. Spread the Mascarpone mixture on top of the Lady Fingers.
  7. Repeat this layering process and end with the Mascarpone mixture.
  8. Top with cocoa powder/chocolate shavings.
  9. Refrigerate and serve cold.
