Ingredients

12 eggs, separated

1/2 t. salt

1# butter, at room temperature

3# powdered sugar

1 t. vanilla, rum or brandy flavoring

1 t. nutmeg

1 t. cloves

1 t. allspice

Preparation

Beat egg whites until stiff; add salt. Beat egg yolks until light. Cream butter and powdered sugar; mix until crumbly. Add egg yolks and vanilla; mix well. Add spices. Add egg whites; beat until well blended. Will keep several weeks in refrigerator. May be frozen, if covered. Use 1 heaping tablespoon of batter for each Tom and Jerry, 1/2 jigger rum and 1/2 jigger brandy. Fill with hot water. Sprinkle spices on top.
