Ingredients
4 corn tortillas
1-16 oz. can refried beans
1/2 lb. (2 cups) grated colby, mild cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
Preparation
In a small skillet, heat 1/2 cup vegetable oil. Fry corn tortillas by holding tortilla with tongs, lowering into hot grease, turning once till crisp. Drain on paper towel. Now heat 1 16-oz. can refried beans. Spread 4 tablespoons beans on each tortilla. Sprinkle each tostada with 4 tablespoons grated cheese. Garnish with any or all of the following:
* diced, cooked green chiles
* onions
* tomatoes
* avocados
* olives
* shredded lettuce
