Ingredients
Filling:
6 Cups Granny Smith Apples (skinned and sliced)
1 1/2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
1/2 Cup Bakers Sugar
2/3 Cup Brown Sugar (Packed)
3 Tablespoons Flour
1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon Nutmeg
Topping:
1 1/2 Caramelized Walnuts
1/2 Cup Bakers Sugar
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar (Packed)
1/3 Cup Unsalted Butter
Preparation
~Filling~
Place sliced apples into a large mixing bowl. Toss apples by hand while adding lemon juice.
Knead sugars, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg into bowl off apples by hand until apples are uniformly coated.
Add to pie crust
~Topping~
Combine walnuts, butter, and sugars into a small mixing bowl.
Beat with a fork until crumbly consistency is reached.
~Baking the Pie~
Pour filling into favorite pie crust.
Add topping to pie
Bake at 375 for about an hour. Watch for top to crisp darken.
