Ingredients
3-3/4 c flour
1 c butter or marg
1 pkg. yeast
2 eggs
1/2 c sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
1-1/2 c sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 c water. Set aside
Blend flour and butter. Mix 2 slightly beaten eggs with dissolved yeast, sour cream and 1 tsp. vanilla.
Combine flour mixture with wet ingredients. Divide dough in half and chill for 2 hours or up to three days.
Combine 1-1/2 c sugar with 2 tsp of vanilla.
Take 1/2 of dough and roll out to 8x16 rectangle.Using some of the sugar,spread on dough. Fold dough in thirds. Turn 1/4 around and repeat rolling and folding with sugar two more times. Use 1/2 of vanilla sugar on each half of the dough. After rolling and folding 3x, roll out to 8x16 rectangle. Cut in half long ways and then across into one inch strips. Twist each strip. Put on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 20 min. until golden brown.
Do the same with other half of dough and vanilla sugar.
