Ingredients

3/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup shortening

1 egg

2 1/2 cups flour

2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 cup milk

2 cups huckleberries

1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Beat sugar and shortening until fluffy. Add egg and beat well. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt together. Add flour mix and milk alternately to sugar-shortening-egg mixture. Beat until smooth.

Pour into greased 8x8" pan. Sprinkle berries on top of batter. Then add crumble topping and bake 435-50 minutes @ 350°. Don’t overbake!

Crumble topping: 1/2 cup sugar (brown works, too) 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 cup soft butter
